�Biotechnology company Arana Therapeutics Limited (ASX: AAH) announced that it has completed recruitment in its Phase II dose-ranging psoriasis study for its anti-inflammatory do drugs ART621. Completion of recruitment means that formal results of the study should be usable in former 2009.
Arana also confirmed that it is planning to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) lotion for ART621 in the rheumatoid arthritis indication in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Commenting on these developments, CEO John Chiplin said: "We are pleased with the clinical progression of ART621 and ar excited to be finalising the IND documentation, the submission of which is a all important milestone towards the commercialisation of ART621."
"Subject to feedback from the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), we look onward to the commencement of our rheumatic arthritis programme by the end of this year which we have been carefully planning for some time now." Dr Chiplin said.
ART621 is an "anti-TNF" - a class of drugs used for the treatment of incendiary diseases such as creaky arthritis, psoriasis and Crohn's disease. ART621 works by blocking the action of TNF (neoplasm necrosis factor) a protein which is involved in the contemporaries of rubor.
"We are targeting two of the key anti-TNF markets - rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. If successful in trials, the unique nature of our product should enable us to gain a valuable parcel of the large and growing anti-TNF market" Dr Chiplin aforementioned.
The tot market for existing anti-TNF's, Remicade�, Humira� and Enbrel�, was US$12.8 billion in 2007. This market is expected to exceed US$20 billion by 2012.

Critical Assessment Of Tools To Predict Clinically Insignificant Prostate Cancer At Radical Prostatectomy In Contemporary Men

Application of the Kattan nomogram resulted in an accuracy of 80.6%, overestimating ICaP in this study cohort.

The Jimmy Cake - Spectre and Crown
Give up your job, lose your friends and spend all day with the headphones on as you scour the earth on your quest - you will not find a better track this year than 'Red Tony', the opener on 'Spectre and Crown'. In the instrumentals genre, here is a piece so epic and emotive that it ranks with anything the legends have come up with. Keep in with the boss, stick with the pals and give your ears a break: it's just not going to happen.
After a long time away, The Jimmy Cake have made an album which is worth every cent for that moment alone - but there are other reasons too for shelling out for this record today.
'Red Tony's successor, 'Jetta's Palace', is so urgent and infectious that the clock radio should crank it out first thing every morning, followed by 'Hugs for Buddy'. And at the other end of the day 'Collapsing Cloud Night at the Starry Sky' would soothe anything which has gone on before you hit the pillow.
The musicianship is superb, their potential colossal and you'll even put up with 'Nuberu' and 'The Art of Wrecking' - two of those sound collage things that frustrate more than they fascinate - because what's before and after them is such a joy. If you weren't a fan of The Jimmy Cake or post-rock and all its offshoots before, then this is a record to hear. If you are, it's not too early to start buying the Christmas presents.
